A self-organized center for activities for Ukrainian children, sponsored by Blivande, hosts activities twice per week and occasionally holds Ukrainian festivals in the container village Frihamnstorget.

About

We are not a traditional music school. Our work focuses on rehabilitation, socialization, and integration through creative activities and cultural events, with a special emphasis on children who have fled the war in Ukraine. Additionally, we aim to preserve Ukrainian cultural treasures, which are at risk of disappearing due to the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war.

A place for every age

At our center, each child is given the opportunity to explore singing, dancing, and engaging in theater and stage direction. We are confident that these experiences will equip children with a solid foundation for future professional creative education.

Our classes are structured into the following age groups:

- Younger: 5-8 years

- Intermediate: 9-13 years

- Senior: 14-17 years

Activities

We offer a variety of classes, including choreography with a focus on Ukrainian folk and contemporary art, individual and ensemble singing, theater and stagecraft, puppet theater, and musical and theatrical performances. Additional classes within our projects include "Swedish in Theater," where participants learn and deepen their language skills through creative processes, guided by professional Swedish theater and film artists. Another course, "Swedish in Theater with a Focus on Communication," is designed for younger children and their parents. We also provide psychological support, offering separate activities for children of different age groups, as well as for parents.

Achievements and vision

We are planning to expand our range of classes and will soon be offering courses in music theory, cultural history, and instrument lessons.

Over the past two years, the children in our studio have participated in more than fifty concert programs. This has not only enhanced their communication skills and integration into Swedish society, but also strengthened their confidence and adaptability.
