The Longest Table (FKF)

What is The Longest Table?
The idea for The Longest Table emerged after the COVID-19 pandemic, driven by the desire to reunite neighbors and foster a sense of community. What better way to bring people together than through food? The first edition took place in New York’s Chelsea district, where 500 neighbors gathered around a 320-meter-long table, sharing homemade, baked, or store-bought dishes in a massive potluck.
We launched our first event in 2024 and are excited to continue hosting regular editions throughout 2025!

Postkodstiftelsen Grant
The Swedish Postcode Lottery Foundation (Postkodstiftelsen) supports NGOs in Sweden and internationally, funding initiatives that improve people’s living conditions, protect nature and the environment, and promote culture and sports.
The Grannskapsinitiativet (Neighborhood Initiative) grant, which focuses on strengthening local communities and neighbourhoods, funded the first two editions of The Longest Table: the Christmas Edition and the Persian Edition. Now, it’s up to us to keep the tradition alive!
Future Events
The Longest Table will continue, each time exploring a new culture through its cuisine. Our goal remains the same: to bring people together, foster connections, and create meaningful shared experiences.
To help cover food costs, we will introduce affordable tickets for each event.

How to Get Involved
You can purchase tickets for our monthly editions on our website: https://www.blivande.com/.
For each event, we aim to create a knowledge-sharing space dedicated to a specific culture. Do you know someone we should invite? Would you like to contribute—perhaps with a performance, a story, or an artistic expression related to the featured culture?
We’d love to hear from you! Help us build a rich and engaging program that fosters cultural exchange and shared learning.
